Fall Prevention -
Senior Safety Task Force

The Senior Safety Task Force was created in January 2006 to reduce falls by Sonoma County seniors (individuals 60+). Task Force members identified the following strategies to reach this goal:

  • Educating the community about ways to prevent falls
  • Providing risk assessments focusing on an individual's physical health and how that impacts fall risks
  • Home environment and how that might impact fall risks

Funded by the Sonoma Health Alliance, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa, St. Joseph's Health System and the Sonoma County Department of Health Services, the Senior Safety Task Force is coordinated by the Sonoma County Area Agency on Aging.
